The "offsetter" got me going for one, and ratings agency AAA's etc. My own take of several detailed searches re Lomborg is that he was always about political. Further, a willing aid and abetter of such distortion made possible through political channels. More particularly post-Bush II election and an administration hellbent against the UN. For what it is worth I'd say that that administration (which elevated Lomborg through the US Ambassador Bolton) used the guy to beat their bogie with.
