Holy cows! I'm not coming down there if it's that cold that you have to put coats on your wine. :-)

You can leave your wine at home. It already tastes like alcoholic jam. Join us in a marvellous Gore sauvignon blanc (green, grassy, with hints of lignite in the finish), or my very own Cotes du Waipara... (a syrah with style).

We had planned on invading Tassie first but we'll be over your way directly, we'll bring the wine shall we. I wonder if Roger has any room on his front lawn for a tent because we will want to bring the rellies.

It's nicely done. "Asylums for the chronically deluded" sounds like a firming up of their position... ;-)

I have one substantive disagreement. If NZ has a refugee problem, it won't be one involving "huddled masses of climate refugees arriving here from the Pacific and from the poorer parts of Asia and the subcontinent". It'll be the rich who get here first, and look to protect their nice green lifeboat... Not to mention 20 million Aussies with invasive barbecues...

I’ve often wondered what was happening to the thinking of these two after their book Poles Apart, which I reviewed here on Hot Topic. At that stage they seemed to me to shy away from the obvious implications of their own findings. They’ve obviously got over that. The scientists are not ticked off for overstatement. I just hope that this time they’re wrong about the politicians. But I fear they know more about politicans than they did about scientists.
